A Note of Caution: Beware of E-Bay Bargains and Other "Free Ticket" Offers ...

Trust me. You will not find legitimate 50% off savings on Disney World tickets - with no strings attached - anywhere.  Not on E-Bay and not from the Orlando kiosks that scream "Get your free Disney tickets here!"

E-Bay  If you search E-Bay for Disney ticket deals you'll find lots, but if you buy them, you're really taking a chance.  To save a few dollars, you'll risk losing your entire payment.

You see - one of the problems with Disney tickets is that they don't get punched or stamped when you use them. In other words a used up ticket looks exactly like a brand new one. You can buy tickets through E-Bay and receive them - only to find when you get to Florida - that your tickets have already been completely used. There's no retail outlet to take them back to and no customer service number to call. ( Our tickets are issued with the purchase date right on them so you know they can't be used.)

Another E-Bay scam involves Florida residents buying discounted tickets and reselling them - at a profit - to people who wouldn't qualify to buy them directly from Disney. (If you live in Florida, you can get a huge discount on tickets.) The trick here is that Florida residents with those special tickets are required to carry Florida Photo ID.

If you live outside Florida and get caught at the gate, you risk losing the tickets and a great deal of embarrassment.

Basically - E-Bay "deals" are not worth the risk.

"Free Disney World Tickets" Offers  When you get to Orlando, you'll see booths in every lobby and on every corner that promise free Disney World Tickets. Will they really give you free tickets? Yes - if you attend a time-share presentation they promise will take 90 minutes. You'll be lucky to get away in under 3 hours and these presentation are hours of hard selling. Unless you're really interested in buying a timeshare - I'd suggest you pass. Especially if your time in Orlando is limited. I'd rather spend my time at the parks.

Besides - the price per day goes down when you buy more days.  So - the one-day ticket you get from them for all your trouble - will really not save you all that much. ( For example: Now you'll be buying 3 days instead of 4, at a higher cost per day.)
