This is a thrilling raft ride through churning water and you will get wet. The scenery is amazing.
Each raft holds 12 people and they don’t stop moving, so you’ll have to ‘step lively’ to get in and buckle-up before you start your ascent up the Chakranadi River (“river in a circle”). By the time you’re halfway up, the raft behind you has been obscured by mist.
You’re in the rainforest and you can smell the lush vegetation around you. If you listen carefully, you’ll hear when the beat of the drums is replaced by the buzzing of chainsaws. You must be nearing the logging camp.
Then you smell smoke! The loggers have escaped and left charred stumps and devastated forest in their wake. Beware of the precariously balanced logging truck that could block your flight down the river! Also in Asia:
