The first "Hidden Mickeys" were created by the Imagineers as an inside joke. Most of them were based on the 3-circle Mickey icon.

While building or creating some sort of Disney magic, an Imagineer would hide a "Mickey" in the construction materials or a painting. People started to notice them and keep track of the ones they found. Now "Hidden Mickeys" are incorporated into almost everything Disney builds. Many are still the original Mickey icon, but there are other hidden shapes too. One favorite is Mickey's profile but there are profiles of Goofy, Donald and other characters too.
Check out this cute
