Animal Kingdom Attractions:
Overview of Dinoland USA

You'll enter Dinoland USA through the Oldengate Bridge.

(This is what the sign, on the left, says:)
Oldengate Bridge
This fossil Gateway is composed of the giant bones of a Brachiosaurus, one of the largest creatures that ever walked the earth.
It stands 52 feet tall and more than 80 feet long. A peaceful plant-eater, the Brachiosaurus’ enormous neck allowed it to browse amid the upper branches of prehistoric forests.
This replica fossil is cast from the bones discovered in Colorado in 1900. The original is now in the Field Museum in Chicago.
To get a closer look at this astounding giant, visit The Boneyard, our working dinosaur dig site.

Dino Sue

Dino Sue is a giant Tyrannosaurus Rex that was excavated from the Black Hills of South Dakota. What you see today is a cast of the real skeleton that was painstakingly  assembled right here at Animal Kingdom by real paleontologists.

Once the real skeleton was completed it was shipped off to Chicago's Field Museum.  Disney World got to keep the replica because Disney paid for much of the archeological field work.
