If you're staying at a Disney resort or one of the private hotels on the Disney property, you may not need a car.
Some off-property hotels also provide shuttle service to the Disney parks - free or inexpensively. These services normally pick people up from several resorts so the drive can be a long one. If you don't mind the travel time and can work to their schedule - you can certainly save money by using the available transit.
However - if you want to come and go as you wish, travel outside the specified shuttle route (to other parks, shopping, restaurants, etc.) there are great deals available on car rentals in Orlando!
Car Rental Tips:
1. Do your rental company provide free or low cost car seats for babies and small children?
2. Do they provide free road maps?
3. Do they provide Air Miles or Points?
Money-Saving Tip: Check your driver's insurance and home insurance policies to see what coverage you have for rental cars. You may not need all the insurance that the rental company provides.
