I visited Epcot years ago as a teen and thought it was a theme park for science geeks. I wasn't one so that meant - "boring" - to me. It didn't take Disney long to catch on. They realized that EPCOT didn't exactly thrill kids so they started making changes.
As a result - today's EPCOT has thrilling rides, fantastic attractions and fun activities to engage even the most science-adverse children. EPCOT is 2 parks in 1: "Future World" and the "World Showcase." These areas are so different - they even have different operating hours.
When you enter through the main gates, you walk through "Future World" to get to the "World Showcase." There's so much to see and do - we could easily spend 2 days in EPCOT without getting bored. See also:
