Following is an actual conversation I had with a friend who’d just returned from Disney World:
“We HATED the Animal Kingdom," she said.
"Hated the Animal Kingdom?” I repeated incredulously. (It’s one of our favorite parks.) “But why?"
"Because there was nothing to do! It's just a big zoo"
"Nothing to do?" I echoed. "Did you go on "Kilamanjaro Safaris"? It’s incredible!”
“No - where was that?”
“What about The Kali River Raft Ride?”
“No – I’ve never heard of that one either.”
“What about Expedition Everest?” – (That’s a new ride and really popular so surely they ‘did’ Everest.)
“The line up was too long for that one – almost 2 hours! Jim finally went on through the Single Rider line. He said it was great but the rest of us wanted to ride together so we decided to pass.”
“Why didn’t you get a Fast Pass?”
“A what?
Disney's Animal Kingdom is so much more than a zoo. Sure - there are lots of really exotic animals in natural habitats but there are also thrilling rides and attractions.
However - the park is also very spread out, so it takes some preparation and planning to get the most out of the Animal Kingdom. Like the other parks, AK is divided into distinct areas. Use the links below to connect to more information about the Animal Kingdom: 1. Oasis
2. Discovery Island
3. Camp Minnie-Mickey
4. Africa
5. Rafiki’s Planet Watch
6. Asia
7. Dinoland USA
